MIDDLE SCHOOL

November 19, 2020

Dear DAA Middle School Families,

It is hard to believe we are almost to holiday break.  As I go into classrooms everyday, I am amazed and grateful at how our staff and students have responded to our blended learning environment.  Your support at home during this time has been paramount in the success of students as well.

I hope you were able to connect with your child’s teachers during Parent/Teacher Conferences and glean insight to their progress.  With only a handful of weeks left before break, staff are making sure assessments are marked and entered in PowerSchool regularly so you and your child have an accurate understanding of how they are progressing with the standards.

While teachers were holding conferences, our educational assistants did professional development to reflect on ways we can help students on a daily basis.  There was rich conversation about the techniques that are used, as well as how important having a good relationship with students is to being effective in the classroom.  I am incredibly proud of the work our EAs do every day and support the learning process at DAA!

Finally, if your student is missing any items, please make sure they check for it  in the Lost & Found, located in Commons 1. There are a variety of notebooks, water bottles, and sweaters that have been turned in.
