MIDDLE SCHOOL

Dear DAA Middle School Families,

It’s hard to believe that winter break is already upon us!  Our students and staff have worked very hard this semester and deserve to enjoy some time to recharge.  I hope you are able to spend some quality time with your family and friends over the next couple of weeks.

As you have heard, we are shifting along with the public sector of the UAE to a Monday to Friday Schedule. That means we will now have a full day of school on Tuesday and have a noon dismissal each Friday. Please stay tuned for more information regarding after school activities, sports, and any other considerations that will need to be made as we shift to the new work week.  As we worked through the changes, we were very protective of our academic time.  As you can see by our timetable below, your children will still be receiving quality academic time in classes on Fridays that you have come to expect at DAA Middle School.

Following winter break, school will resume on Monday January 3.  As of now, there are no specific KHDA guidelines for families who will be traveling in December; KHDA are confident that the DHA guidelines for travel will safely cover schools in Dubai.  That means that students do not require any quarantine or PCR test to come back to campus on January 3.  If your family will still be traveling after January 3, please let us know your child will be absent by emailing msattendance_daa@gemsedu.com. 

Upcoming Dates

• December 09 - Last day before winter break (Noon Dismissal)

• January 03 - Classes resume from winter break

• January 24 - Winter MAP testing expected to begin

• January 28 - End of semester 1

• January 31 - Start of semester 2

Students have now been allocated their trips and the real excitement is starting! Later in January students will begin to meet during CREW time to discuss ideas, plan their experiences, and design their T-shirts!  Please remember that payments are due by January 6 to ensure your child’s place is reserved.  Please follow the directions to make payments below:

3. Login using your username and password

4. Click the Activities Box (the green box)

5. You will see the activity for WWW (Please select student-assigned activity)
