MIDDLE SCHOOL

December 8, 2020

Dear DAA Middle School Families,

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your generosity this holiday season.  As you know, homerooms have been working to collect donations for our support staff employees who work tirelessly to make sure the building is clean, take our children to and from school, and keep the facilities running throughout the year.  Our workers will receive their bags later this week, and we are excited to show our appreciation for their hard work!

As the holidays approach, many families are planning to travel.  As a reminder, we have guidelines in place in order to return to school.  Make sure you watch this video and follow the outline below so you know what to expect for your family’s return to DAA.

All parents are required to complete the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Declaration before their children return to school on January 3rd, following the winter break. You are asked to complete the declaration form, even if you are not travelling.

For those intending to travel this season, please note that students may not return to school unless they have either quarantined for 14 days following their return or received a negative PCR test (with a validity of 48 hours).

See the DHA Declaration page in the DAA SPOTS Newsletter for further information.

Here is the Dubai Health Authority DeclarationLink: https://www.dha.gov.ae/en/Pages/coronaregistration.aspx

IMPORTANT: When completing the DHA online form, the system will prompt you to enter the "school email". Please enter traveldeclaration_daa@gemsedu.com in that field.

Whether you are here or abroad this holiday season, please keep yourself and your families safe!

What’s Happening at DAA?

I hope you all stay well,

MFL Grade 6 virtual (Zoom) parent coffee: Jan. 10, 2021

After students in Grade 6 complete their semester-long exploratory language course on January 28 (2021), they will be required to choose a language for further study in the second semester (Jan. 31-June 30). In order to support our students and families in the process, the Modern Foreign Languages department invites all Grade 6 parents to attend a virtual parent coffee on this topic on Sunday, January 10, 2-3pm, via ZOOM (link to be shared after the winter break). In case you are unable to attend, you may also access the full extent of the presentation content via these slides: LINK.
