NOTE: December 8th will be the next issue of SPOTS!
Commemoration Day: Nov. 29th, 2020
The DAA community will mark the occasion by observing a few moments of silence at 11am to honor the sacrifice of the nations’ martyrs. We will then listen to the Commemoration Day Speech delivered by our Emirati Students, who are invited to come to the ceremony dressed in their national clothes.
National Day Celebrations: Nov. 30th, 2020
All members of the DAA community are invited to join us in celebrating our wonderful host country’s 49th UAE National Day. Staff and students are encouraged to honor the memory of the union by coming to school dressed in traditional Emirati clothes or the colors of the UAE flag (red, green, white and black). As per the DHA and KHDA recommendations, students will attend a fun UAE themed virtual assembly instead of our traditional UAE Heritage Village Celebrations. Happy birthday UAE and to many more years of peace, blessings and prosperity.
Four teams of enthusiastic readers will be entered into the Reader’s Cup, sponsored by the Emirates Festival of Literature. Two teams will represent our ES while the other two teams will represent the MS/HS. We are very excited as this is the first time DAA has participated in this wonderful event. We wish all the participants the best of luck!
Our wonderful libraries are not just for student check outs. Parents are also able to have a library account and check out books for their own reading and enjoyment. If you would like to have an account, please fill out this Google form. You are able to access all libraries in the school, place books on hold, as well as have access to all ebooks. Once you have selected the books, we will either deliver it to your child or you are able to pick it up from the front of house.
If you have any questions please contact your librarian.

Is security giving you a hard time about entering the campus without your parent pass? Please remember to wear your parent lanyard at all times while on campus. Our security team has a vital role to ensure that our campus remains safe. Everyone on campus must have either a staff lanyard (blue), parent lanyard (yellow) or they are asked to sign in as a guest to receive a visitor pass. If you are a new parent to DAA and have not yet filled out your family pass form, please click HERE to complete the form, save it and email it with passport sized photos to communication_daa@gemsedu.com
Once your family passes are ready, you will receive an email to notify you that they have been sent home with your child or available for you to pick up at reception. For questions on your application, please contact Yvonne Sidani @Y.SIDANI_DAA@gemsedu.com.
Our Checklist and Welcome Packet will provide our new families with support and guidance as they onboard with us! If there is any information you are looking for, we are here to help! Contact us @ Pre_daa@gemsedu.com.
