HIGH SCHOOL
May 19, 2021
Dear Parents,
We hope you all enjoyed your Eid break with family and friends. As we wind down the semester, we will be sending out additional information about our end of the year celebrations including the subject awards and graduation.
During the last weeks of the semester we will be engaging our freshman and sophomores in a ‘viva voce’ which guides them through a process in which students reflect on how they thrived the year during COVID.
Our pre-AP/IB sophomores will be given time to review videos about each course they selected and join a Q&A session with a subject teacher to help answer questions about the course ahead of next year.
The Mid-Course Review is a new end of year process for all IB year 1 students within each of their IB courses. It is a time for students, teachers and yourself to sit down, review the year and speak about the student’s progress and how their Pre-Predicted grade was calculated. These sessions will be scheduled using our usual ‘school bookings’ website.
All specific dates and times for the sessions above will be communicated within the next few weeks.
We hope you have a relaxing weekend.
Kind Regards,
Tammy Jochinke
High School Principal
Our AP students made it! We hope that students are proud of all their hard work and look forward to demonstrating that on the upcoming AP Exams. Since all exams will be digital this year, students should be sure to have downloaded the AP digital testing platform. If they need some help with that, please have them reach out to their teacher. Good luck!
Graduation
Graduation from high school is an important milestone for all of our students to look forward to. We have prepared a proposal with multiple options for graduation ceremonies. The proposal is now with KHDA and we are hopeful that one of our options will be approved.
Yearbook Update
While this year’s Yearbook is not yet completed, last year’s yearbook is almost sold out. If you would like to get your 2019-2020 Yearbook copy, please pay 100 aed to our Accounts department and then visit Ms. Roma with our receipt on the 3rd floor to receive your copy.
