MIDDLE SCHOOL
June 27th, 2021
Dear DAA Middle School Families,
As we enter our last week of school, I would like to thank our families for their continued support throughout the school year. We are wrapping up a school year that will be remembered for the impact the pandemic had on us, but also because of the memories and friendships, and the year brought us. We could not be more proud of everything that our students and teachers have overcome and learned about themselves this year.
I wish each and every one of our families a wonderful and relaxing summer. If you are returning to DAA in the fall, we are planning to be back at 100%, so we will look forward to seeing you all in person! If you are moving, we wish you all the best!
Yearbook
The Middle School 2020-21 Yearbook is now available! The theme of this year’s edition is superheroes to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and attitude of the whole DAA community. It is a very large book this year due to the impressive creative contributions of all of our MS staff and students.
Once downloaded, it can be shared with friends and families outside of the DAA network. Click here to view or download!
End of Year Reports
As we wrap up the school year, we would like to tell families when to expect end of the year reports for their families. Below are the dates for all divisions at DAA:

27th June – HS Report Cards

Grade 8 Completion Ceremony
Thank you to our families for attending the Grade 8 Completion Ceremony last week. We are so proud of all that our Grade 8 students have accomplished in middle school and wish them well in their journey ahead!
We will be working on getting you links to your child’s picture from the ceremony. In the meantime, please know that the youtube links can still be used to go back and see those special moments!
We were fortunate to have a staff member as our photographer for the ceremony. Our grade 8 T&D teachers will send out pictures of individual students by the end of the week.
June Week
We kicked off June Week today with some great activities! Students chose from physical, academic, and artistic activities in which to participate throughout the day. What a great way to end the school year!

Planner Design Competition
As every year, we had wonderful submissions to our planner design competition for the 2021/22 school year. We would like to recognize Tiantian Zhou, Yaming Zheng, Filip Larnholt, Nabeela Ruqaiya, Sagal Laban and an anonymous student for their for their wonderful contributions to the competition. Congratulations to Alex Wilson for the winning design that will grace the covers of our planners next year seen below:
C.R.E.W
T&D will now be called C.R.E.W.
Recognizing how important this daily time is in our student’s lives, we wanted the name to reflect what is really at the heart of homeroom time. Therefore, along with high school, we have renamed this class to reflect the vital work that is done there: Community, Relationships, Empathy and Wellbeing or C.R.E.W. will be the new name of this lesson.
Summer Learning
Our summer learning websites have been updated and ready for our students to keep their skills up over summer. There are entries for all subjects so take a look!
