The DAA Jazz Ensemble (DJE) enjoyed its first public performance on Monday morning. This year has been spent recruiting and rehearsing talented students from elementary, middle and high school in their weekly session. The DJE is led by our High School Music Director, Mr. Holland and they are in the process of building a repertoire of big band standards from the swing era to jazz rock. 

The students were invited to attend the Dubai Opera Big Band rehearsals on stage earlier this year. The DJE is designed to give our students the platform to refine their musical skills, provide an opportunity for improvisation and foster collaboration between music students of all ages.

Mr. Holland is still looking for members in the saxophone, trumpet, trombone and rhythm sections. Please out to him if you might be interested in an audition!

IT'S BACK!  The annual Staff Talent Show is making a return to our auditorium in June!  This event is a community favorite, showcasing the 'non-teaching' talent of our teachers, EAs, support staff and other members of DAA.  There will be two shows on Wednesday June 14th; at 3:30 pm for the 'after-school' crowd, and 6 pm for those who prefer an 'evening matinee'.  Mark your calendars now as tickets will sell out. Tickets will go on sale June 5 - 12 in the atrium, before and after school.  Don't miss out!
