Welcome from your DAA Elementary School Senior Leadership Team

Dear Elementary Families,

I trust you are all well,

We have enjoyed another successful week of learning in the elementary school classrooms. This week our students engaged in their Applied Sciences units and were able to explore a wide range of learning experiences. It was encouraging to see the students working collaboratively to find solutions to real-world problems. I trust that you’ve been kept up to date with your child’s learning through our Seesaw application.

Our grade 1 to 5 students did a wonderful job with their MAP tests over the past two weeks. They clearly demonstrated Drive and Perseverance, two of our Leopard PRIDE attributes! This round of MAP tests give us a baseline assessment upon which to monitor each student’s academic progress throughout the year. I was very proud of how well they did!

This week we announced the Elementary Student Leadership Council, as voted by their peers. This group, together with our Student Wellbeing Ambassadors and Innovation Team, will be tasked with providing a voice for our students in creating a shared sense of ownership and purpose. I look forward to their contribution and want to extend my appreciation and thanks to the over 150 students who applied for these roles. We are so fortunate to have such high caliber students in our school, and we look forward to creating further leadership opportunities for all our students.

We are looking forward to welcoming you into our classrooms next week at our Parent Teacher Conferences. As mentioned, this event provides a great opportunity for us to align our expectations for each child within our division. We enjoy a close partnership with our parent community and our PTCs allow us to build upon this partnership. Please be reminded that during these days, together with the 17th and 18th of October, there will be no school for students.

If you have not yet booked your Parent Teacher Conference time, please find the information below in order to do that. Our booking system will close at 8am on Monday the 10th of October.

Have a wonderful weekend
