Can you believe it’s already October? 🍁 

Time sure flies when you’re having fun! We at DAAPA have been having a great time bringing some of our favorite events back, on and off campus.

We hope you’ve had the chance to join our DAAPA grade level breakfast mornings that have been taking place over the past couple of weeks at different venues throughout Dubai. What a wonderful way to meet and connect with other parents!

We would also like to thank you for joining our divisional, virtual coffee mornings with the ES & MS leadership teams. A big shout out to our wonderful ES & MS teams for joining us as well, and for addressing parent’s questions and concerns.

We are also happy to announce that our first, on campus event after a very long time, is almost here! 

Please join us next Tuesday, October 12 for our annual Pink Day/Cancer awareness bazaar. We’ll be located outside the school’s front entrance for the whole day. Please come out and support us for such a worthwhile cause. There will be many items for sale at our bazaar table. All proceeds will be donated to the Al Jalila foundation to benefit cancer patients. 

Also on this day, there will be a student dress down day, where students can come dressed in pink and/or white and contribute with an optional donation for this charity.

Collection boxes will be placed outside at the bazaar, in the atrium and with divisional secretaries.

Tune in on Monday 11th October at 9am to listen to Dr Annett’s presentation. The focus  - Early Detection Saves Lives. 

Dr. Annett is a consultant in general and breast surgery in Mediclinic Hospital. She is a German board certified general surgeon and European board certified breast surgeon. Dr. Annett has more than 18 years of experience in the field of general surgery and breast surgery. As a native German, she graduated from the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany and undertook Breast surgical training including a fellowship in the Brustzentrum Zuerich, Switzerland. She worked in Germany till 2006 then moved to Dubai. Dr. Annett performs a comprehensive range of breast cancer surgeries. She is also part of Mediclinic's multidisciplinary tumor board for breast cancer patients. She is a member of the EUSOMA, German Breast Cancer Society and the German Surgeons' Society.

As October is usually a very busy month for us, we’re always looking to our parent community for volunteers.
