ELEMENTARY

March 25, 2022

Dear Elementary Families,

Today is the last day of Term 2 for our students and what a great term it has been!

Thank you for attending and participating in last week’s Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences. Today you will be receiving your child’s formal report card. Take some time over the next few days to review the report card with your child. Our students have the confidence to voice their ideas and opinions and identify their personal strengths, areas for development and how they plan to be their best in Term 3.

Following Spring Break we will return to Ramadan hours. School begins at 8am and elementary dismissal is at 12:50pm. Please note classroom doors will only open at 7:45am. We are thankful to the Islamic department and our parents for taking the time to decorate the school in recognition of this very important time.

We wish you a safe and happy Spring Break

Quote of the week:  "Peace is being different, feeling good about yourself, and helping others. The world is a better place because of you" - Todd Parr

Children are really excited to learn and have fun in the classroom. During the reading sessions we have been re-reading different books, making story predictions and answering questions related to the stories. The children looked very cute in their story book characters costumes. They made puppets of themselves (characters) and included those puppets in their stories created during the story workshop. Children are enjoying reading books with their friends during the reading month of March. In math, we reviewed the various addition strategies. We added using a dice and some manipulatives. The children are thoroughly enjoying addition using hands-on activities. In class we also celebrated Emirati Children’s Day and UAE Mother’s Day. Children made arts and crafts for their mothers and sang a special song.
