MIDDLE SCHOOL

March 25, 2022

Dear DAA Middle School Families,

Our students and teachers have been working very hard over the past several months and now it’s time for a well-deserved break!  Research shows that getting away from work is great for your brain as well as your motivation to work hard upon returning.  I hope you are able to take some time away and enjoy some of spring break with your family and friends.

While on spring break, we will enter into the holy month of Ramadan.  This is a sacred time for reflection, worship, prayer, and fasting. To all of our families who celebrate this time of the year, I wish you Ramadan Mubarak.

We will follow our KHDA approved Ramadan schedule upon our return to school on April 11th.  Each department has planned to assign work and activities that will accommodate both fasting and non-fasting students.  Please see the Ramadan timings in the main section of SPOTS.

Middle school coffee morning

This past Tuesday morning we had our first in-person DAAPA coffee morning in two years! We were able to speak about how our students have voice and choice in middle school, course selection and upcoming events for parents in April and May. Thank you to all that were able to make it, have a snack and tea or coffee, and share in the success our students are having. We look forward to seeing our parents' faces again soon.

course selection for 22-23

We have started the process of class placement and course selection for the academic year 22/23! Your children have watched a video explaining the process in their CREW classes on March 21st and you should have received a letter that evening containing the same information along with a link to the course selection form. Thank you in advance for sitting with your child and filling out the form in a timely manner. The deadline for submission is April 11, 2022.

Please reach out to your grade-level counselor if you have any questions or concerns.

ramadan kareem

Thank you to DAAPA, parent volunteers, maintenance workers, and Islamic department for getting us into the spirit of Ramadan.  The halls look beautiful, and will help set the tone for this holy month upon returning from spring break.
