MIDDLE SCHOOL

April 29, 2021

Dear DAA Middle School Families,

Ramadan Kareem!

Earlier this week, we had some of our very own middle school students and staff members perform for DAA’s Tuneful Tuesday to tell us more about Ramadan.  We had recitation from the Quran, poems, and songs broadcast live to classrooms. Great job by all!

As we celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, it is encouraging to see the culture of kindness throughout the halls at DAA.  Students are consistently being kind, considerate, and thoughtful of others as they go throughout their day as they always do, but especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

DAAPA Coffee Mornings

We had a wonderful conversation at our DAAPA Coffee Morning.  We would love to see everyone next month!  It is a great way to connect with other parents, and be in-the-know with what is happening at DAA MS.  Look for the date in the DAAPA  page of SPOTS for May’s coffee morning!

Week Without Walls

As you know, our Week Without Walls had to be changed due to COVID restrictions.  While we cannot travel, we wanted to continue with fun opportunities for students to build relationships and camaraderie with each other.  We will be holding safe, in-house events put on by our staff members during our last week of school.  So be ready the week of June 27 for some fun!  It will be a great ending to the school year!

Next Year - Grade 7 and 8 Course requests

Next year's Grade 7 and Grade 8 students have been submitting their course requests over the past few weeks and class lists are being created this week, however we still have some students still to complete the form.  You will have received a reminder from the Middle School office to complete.  Without the form being submitted we are unable to take into account the students choices for courses or their friendship groups for class placements.  If you believe you still need to complete the form please go here.

Design Next Year's Planner! Grade 6 & 7 Competition!

We are inviting all grade 6 and 7 students to design and create next year’s planner from cover page.

ART COMPETITION: Create the front cover for next year’s planner cover page. House points awarded to the best designs.   Time to get creative! Open for all grade 6 and 7 students.
