Welcome Back!
We hope that you had a wonderful summer holiday, and that you are just as excited as we are about the upcoming school year.
Dubai American Academy has a proud and well-respected Athletics and Activities program and we look forward to an exciting year with plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Below you will find all the important information to get you started for the beginning of the school year.

Athletics
Please take the time to review the Sports Offerings for 2023-2024. Of course, offerings are based on student interest, coaching staff and facilities. However, we are always excited for the opportunity to expand our program. There will be several informational meetings to introduce our Athletics Program to students and parents, please find the dates and times for those meetings. These meetings are mandatory for those who are interested in participating in our competitive sports programs and teams.
For Parents

All Parent meetings will be in the Theater starting at 08:30, and will last approximately 1 hour.
For Students

All Student meetings will be in the Theater starting at 15:15, and will last approximately 1 hour.
Below you will find information regarding our Season One competitive sports program.
Monday August 28th Season One Team Registration opens
Friday September 1st Season One Team Registration closes
Monday September 4th Season One Try-outs begin
Friday September 8th Team Selections
Monday September 11th Season One begins
On Monday August 28th an informational email will be sent to parents, while students will receive the information through grade level bulletins and HS student emails also QR codes will be available at the Athletics Office.
ACTIVITIES
Here is some news regarding our ASA (after school activities) program for KG2 to Grade 8 students. On Tuesday September 5th before school there will be an Activities Fair outside by the Center of Excellence. This fair is an opportunity for parents to gather information regarding both our internal and external Activities Program, as well as the opportunity to meet 3rd party providers from ESM.

* Registration will close at 12noon
Monday September 18th ASA’s begin
Friday November 24th ASA’s end
To register students in the ASA Program all parents must have an ESM Profile. Please click the link below for information and short video on how to create and update your ESM Profile.
Returning DAA parents it is extremely important to update your children’s information accordingly, that means updating your child’s grade and Teacher Initials to be able to view the up to date program.
AQUATICS
DAA offers the following swimming teams through our Aquatics Program: G2-3, G3-5, U14 (G6-7-8), Junior Varsity (G8-9-10), Varsity (G10-11-12) and Traveling teams (G6-12).
Please find below important dates and information.
Tryouts session for U14, Junior Varsity and Varsity will be:
Wednesdays August 30th from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM
Friday September 1st from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM
Friday September 8th from 3:15PM to 4:30 PM
MS and HS Students will be able to sign-up starting Monday 28th 2023. There will be no tryout session for ES students. DAA swimming coaches will observe all DAA ES students during their school swimming lessons starting on September 11th 2023. As there are limited spots on the swimming team, coaches will select not more than 5 boys and 5 girls per grade level.
Swimming staff\parents meeting will be on September 6th from 3:00PM to 5:00 PM at the DAA auditorium.
REGISTRATION CALENDAR
Week Without Walls FOR ms
The Week Without Walls week is an immersive educational experience that takes Middle School students outside the traditional classroom setting to explore and learn in a more hands-on and experiential way. The purpose of such a week is to provide students with a unique opportunity to engage in learning activities that may not be possible within the constraints of a traditional classroom.

HSC for hs
