ELEMENTARY
February 18, 2021
Dear DAA Elementary School Families,
We have received confirmation from parents on their intention to return for the 2021-2022 school year. This is very helpful as we continue to plan for your child’s seamless transition into the next school year. Please share your intentions with us at your earliest convenience if you have not done so already. Should you have any questions prior to making the commitment to next year, our elementary leadership team is happy to find time to chat with you. If you have any questions regarding the re-enrollment process, please do not hesitate to contact our Admissions Director, Ms. Gabrielle Keane, g.keane_daa@gemsedu.com.
For all those families who have joined us during the school year, wow, what a year to become part of a new school community. Even though this year is quite different, it has been wonderful to see our new families connect with the school through their participation in monthly DAAPA Coffee Mornings. Should any new parents be interested in discussing their personal experience settling in, or have any questions please feel free to reach out c.cantlie_daa@gemsedu.com.
I have said it many times, but our school was built to pivot into experiences such as our current context. Through our growth mindset, agility with technology and our students’ incredible perseverance and drive, we continue to see amazing student learning. Looking ahead to next year we are very hopeful that our classroom learning spaces will return to the flexible, student-centered learning environments we had prior to the current covid restrictions. We also look forward to a return to our rich collaborative experiences that interconnect students throughout the school.
It has been an incredible year and we look forward to 2021-2022 where we will continue to embrace innovation to keep student learning outstanding. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Sincerely,
Craig Cantlie

Upcoming Parent Sessions
Meeting ID: 515 439 7406Passcode: 530642
Join us on February 21st to gain insight on our student support services at DAA. The presentation will provide an overview of our Inclusion program, our English as an Additional Language Program and Counseling Services at DAA.
Our preferred virtual medium for the session is Zoom as it provides more interactivity with our parents. However, please note that the current capacity on Zoom will be limited to 100 participants. We apologize in advance if the session becomes full. However, rest assured that the session will be recorded and shared with our families in an upcoming SPOTS Newsletter. We will consider alternative mediums for future sessions if the demand for attendance exceeds 100. Thank you for your understanding.
