Ramadan Kareem
As part of our Culture of Kindness, and in the spirit of giving during Ramadan as well as the Year of Zayed, GEMS DAA will be joining the Ramadan Sharing Fridge Initiative this year. Sharing food and drinks during the Holy month is a common practice. The Ramadan fridge initiative has found a way to organize and optimize this practice. GEMS DAA will be hosting a fridge at Gate 1. No hot food is allowed. Fridges can be filled with the following: water, juice, laban, soft drinks, bananas, apples, oranges, cucumbers, biscuits, and instant noodles. If you have any questions, please contact Marta Perez at m.perez_daa@gemsedu.com, Marwa Yassin at m.yassin_daa@gemsedu.com, Maggie Moffat at m.moffat@gemsedu.com, or Donna Reeves at d.reeves_daa@gemsedu.com.
Parent Meeting - Redesign of the Middle School
Redesign of the Middle School for the 2018-19 School Year
For the 2018-2019 school year, DAA’s middle school education will have a new face. Please join us on Tuesday May 29th at 8am in our auditorium for an information session for parents which will focus on the redesign of Middle School at DAA. We hope to provide you with a view of what’s in store next year as we adapt our program, put our students at the center of our dynamic curriculum and offer them authentic learning experiences. We are excited to share this information with you and hope that you will be able to join us.
Yearbook Pre Order
We have opened up sales for our 2017-18 yearbook. Students can pre-order a book for 80 AED in room S38. After Thursday, June 7, yearbooks will cost 100 AED.
Color House Day
We will be hosting our May assembly next Thursday, May, 31st. Students are encouraged to wear their color house shirts and dark pants for this day.
Parent Chat
Please join us for a chat focused on parenting a teenager with Dr. Haneen Jarrar, Child Psychologist and counselor at the Camali Clinic here in Dubai. We will meet in the first floor conference room from 8-9:30am on Monday, May 28th. For more information, please contact Mira Nasr at m.nasr_daa@gemsedu.com.
Headphones/Airpods
We are asking students to bring ONLY inexpensive headphones to school. The current trend is for students to use Airpods which are easily misplaced and difficult to track down. There is no need for expensive headphones.
Best Regards,
