MIDDLE SCHOOL messages
FROM THE MS PRINCIPAL'S DESK
November 15, 2018
Parent Teacher Conferences: Thank you to all parents who were able to attend the Parent-Teacher Conferences over the last two days. We value the important partnership between school and home to help students succeed in the Middle School.
If you were not able to attend the conferences, teachers are always happy to arrange appointments for parents at school. As our teacher schedules are already busy with teaching throughout the day and after school offerings, we kindly ask that parents make a direct appointment with the teacher before coming in. They will be able to suggest a time and location. Should you have any questions with regards to teacher appointments please feel free to contact Sarah Hole in the Middle School office at email@example.com.
MAP Testing Individual Student Progress Reports: Individual student progress reports were handed out over the last two days in Learning Commons 1. If you did not have an opportunity to pick up your child’s report, these will be sent home, with your child, on Monday.
Middle School Uniform: Students are asked to wear the correct uniform everyday unless otherwise stated. This includes: School shirt, tie and pants/ skirt from Threads along with black shoes. A DAA school sweater or school sweatshirt may also be worn. Uniforms are required in the UAE by law. While there are many students who respect the uniform expectations and therefore show respect to the school and it's traditions, there are some students who are not adhering to the expectations.
Students who choose to disregard these expectations will be subject to a Level 1 behavior infraction. This can be found in our Middle School Student Handbook on pages 18-19 here. If a student continues to violate the uniform expectations they move up a Level and thus, the possible consequences also change.
Week Without Walls: Thank you for your payments for trips and activities for Week Without Walls. Our trip leaders will be communicating with families about next steps and visas if necessary next week. Please remember that the week of March 3rd to March 7th is a school week and your child needs to be enrolled in one of our activities unless it is communicated to the office that your child will be absent. We look forward to your child’s participation.
High School Tutoring Club: If you wish for your child to receive free academic tutoring, a group of high school students are kindly offering to help! There will be sessions held every Wednesday, in room S53, for an hour, for all subjects excluding electives.
If you wish to sign up, or have any questions, please contact the two HS representatives listed below:
