ELEMENTARY essentials

January 31, 2019

One week, one checklist, infinite happiness.

Dear ES Families,

This week was filled with excitement as we kicked-off Winter MAP testing and The Great Kindness Challenge! The Great Kindness Challenge was started in 2012 by three schools in California. It has grown exponentially since those humble beginnings. In 2018, the program impacted over 10.5 million students in nearly 20,000 schools. Over 500 million acts of kindness were spread across over 100 countries.

This week, our Elementary students were busy showing kindness to each other, the staff, and the community. Students were motivated to repeat kind act after kind act, making kindness a habit and enhancing DAA’s Culture of Kindness. We are deeply impressed with the many kind and thoughtful acts that our students did this week, and we are confident that this initiative will have an ongoing and lasting impact.

We would also like to give a very special THANK YOU to DAAPA for contributing to our Kindness Stations during recess this week! They were wonderful, and, as always, we so appreciate everything you do! Here are some photos of our students’ expressions of kindness and the heart we created on the field with all Elementary students.

Hearts that beat to the tune of kindness can change the rhythm of the world.
